A widget can be defined as a gadget that controls the android application positioned on the home screen. Widgets are extremely helpful as they give easy access to the favorite applications of the users by placing them on the home screen. This means the application can be accessed quickly whenever the user needs it. Just imagine you want to check time instantly or need to set an alarm, you can simply access the clock widget from the home screen. Instead of searching for the app, the user can just access it from the home screen. Widgets just make the life of the users easy. There are some common widgets that we find on the home screen, such as the weather widget, music widget, etc.
Many types of Widgets are available on the Android platform with their type. For example, there could be control widgets, collection widgets, or information widgets. Since Android is an open-source platform, a developer has complete freedom to develop his budget.
