AWS Direct Connect

AWS Direct Connect

AWS Direct Connect is a cloud solution that makes establishing a dedicated network connection between your business and AWS quite straightforward. AWS Direct Connect is available at rates ranging from 50 Mbps to 100 Gbps and is compatible with all AWS services that can be accessed via the internet.

A Direct Connect gateway is a globally accessible resource that allows several Amazon VPCs in various regions or AWS accounts to be connected. As illustrated in the accompanying diagram, this functionality also allows you to connect to any participating VPCs from a single private VIF, minimising AWS Direct Connect administration.

AWS Direct Connect uses a normal Ethernet fiber-optic connection to connect your internal network to an AWS Direct Connect site. The cable is linked to your router on one end and an AWS Direct Connect router on the other. You may use this connection to create virtual interfaces to public AWS services (such as Amazon S3) or Amazon VPC without having to go via an internet service provider. AWS Direct Connect locations provide you access to AWS in the region with which they're linked. To access public AWS services in all regions, you can utilise a single connection in a public Region or AWS GovCloud (US).
