Benefits of Expert System

Before adopting any technology, we must understand why we are using it, which is true for the ES. What is the point of developing a computer-based system with human experts in every field? So here are the points that describe the ES's requirement:

  • No memory constraints: It can store and memorise as much data as is needed at the time of application. However, there are inherent limitations to memorising everything at all times for human professionals.
  • High Efficiency: When the knowledge base is updated with the correct information, it produces a highly efficient output that a human would not be able to produce.
  • Domain expertise: Because each domain has many human experts, each with their own set of skills, experiences, and abilities, obtaining a final output for the query is difficult. However, if we incorporate human expert knowledge into the expert system, it produces an efficient output by combining all facts and information.
  • Emotions do not affect these systems: Fatigue, anger, depression, worry, and other human emotions do not affect these systems. As a result, the performance remains stable.
  • High security: These systems give high security to resolve any inquiry.
  • Takes into account all accessible facts: In order to answer any inquiry, it examines and considers all available facts before returning a result. However, it is feasible that a human expert will overlook some information for any reason.
  • Regular updates enhance performance: If there is a problem with an expert system's outcome, we can improve the system's performance by updating the knowledge base.
