Amazon Workspaces
Amazon WorkSpaces is a cloud-based, fully managed desktop computing solution that enables businesses to deliver cloud-based desktops to their users. End users can utilise their preferred device to access documents, apps, and resources, such as laptops, iPads, Kindle Fire tablets, or Android tablets. This service was created to satisfy the growing demand for cloud-based services among its clients.
How Does It Work?
Each WorkSpace is an AWS-hosted persistent Windows Server 2008 R2 machine that looks like Windows 7. Users may access their desktops through PCoIP, and data backups are performed every 12 hours by default.
User Requirements
The user must have an Internet connection with open TCP and UDP ports. They must first download the Amazon WorkSpaces client application for their device, which is available for free.
How to Create Amazon Workspaces?
Step 1: Create and configure the virtual private network (VPC). (We'll go over this in more depth in the VPC chapter.)
Step 2: Follow the instructions below to create an AD Directory.
- To access Amazon WorkSpace Console, go to https://console.aws.amazon.com/workspaces/ and click on Directories, then Setup Directory in the navigation bar.
- A new window will appear. Then click the Create Simple AD button and fill in the needed information.
- Fill in the VPC information and choose Next step in the VPC section.
- The information will be reviewed on a review page. If anything is wrong, make the necessary adjustments before clicking the Create Simple AD button.
Step 3: Follow the instructions below to create a WorkSpace.
- To access Amazon WorkSpace Console, go to https://console.aws.amazon.com/workspaces/, choose Workspaces, and then launch WorkSpaces from the navigation panel.
- Choose a cloud directory. Then click the Yes, Next button to enable or disable WorkDocs for all users in this directory.
- A new window will appear. Fill in the new user's information and click the Create Users button. Select Next once the user has been added to the WorkSpace list.
4th step Start the programme. To register for the first time, enter the registration code sent to us through email and click Register.
